The interchange at Interstate 30 and Loop 12 is definitely the craziest interchange in the DFW area. It is a holdover from the days of the Dallas-Fort Worth
Turnpike. The toll booths were removed when I-30 became free on January 1, 1978, but nothing else has changed. Making a right turn from
Loop 12 south to I-30 west requires motorists to drive through two cloverleaf connectors! Other connections are similarly funky.
