Quick Info TX 360 has been built in a slow, piece-by-piece process since the original two-lane road opened in 1959. The planning of DFW International Airport in the late 1960s provided the push to designate SH 360 as a freeway in 1968. Whereas other freeways leading to the airport were expedited to be completed by the airport opening in January 1974, SH 360 was not included in the first phase of airport-related freeway construction. Frontage roads were generally built in advance of main lanes, with the first main lanes opening at I-30 in 1976. Openings continued regularly over the next 30 years, with the most recent main lane openings in 2006. As of this writing in June 2008, it appears that all future new main lanes (south of I-20) will be tolled. TX 360 is typically a medium-sized freeway with six main lanes (three each way). There are plans for reconstruction and expansion between I-20 and I-30. The most glaring weakness of the freeway is the lack of an interchange at I-30, where motorists must exit to the frontage road and pass through signals to make connections.

Additional historical information will be added in the future.
